August 17-20, 2009

Tour will originate in the Kingsport/Johnson City/Bristol/Abingdon area.

Won't you join us on this exciting trip. There will be lots of history, shopping, sight seeing, excitement of a ball game, and even a relaxing cruise. Don't miss this opportunity.

Adventure Day 1 – Monday, August 17, 2009
Our first adventure is the William Howard Taft National Historic Site. This site is the birthplace and boyhood home of the 27th President of the United States. The Greek Revival house is furnished to reflect the Taft's family life from 1857-77. You will experience the role Taft's family and environment had in molding his character and philosophy during his boyhood. Taft is the only American to have served both as president and as chief justice
This evening you will enjoy dinning at the famous Hofbrauhaus House.

Adventure Day 2 – Tuesday, August 18, 2009
Today you will visit the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center on the banks of the Ohio River. Rich with the history and stories of some of the more than 100,000 enslaved people seeking freedom, the center tells of their struggles through exhibits and programs to rid the country of the scourge of slavery. This Smithsonian affiliate promotes a better understanding of freedom today and the lessons of the Underground Railroad. After lunch on your own, we will visit the second oldest zoo in the country – the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Gardens. It is one of the top zoos in the country with over 500 animal species.

Adventure Day 3 – Wednesday, August 19, 2009
What delightful treats we have in store for us today! Enjoy a delectable hot buffet sightseeing and listening to live music as you float along on the Ohio River on a lunch cruise. Later, excitement fills the air when you sit in the stands watching and cheering at the Red’s baseball game. What a great way to end a wonderful trip. We return to our motel for a good night’s sleep before we head for home tomorrow.

Adventure Day 4 – Thursday, August 20, 2009
Today we can just sit back and relax as we had for home and talk about all of our new experiences with old friends and new acquaintances we have met on this trip.
