October 26-27, 2009

Tour will originate in the Kingsport/Johnson City/Bristol/Abingdon area.

This scenic trip will be lots of fun as we enjoy the colorful mountains and the quaint town of Dillsboro. How long has it been since you rode a real steam locomotive?

Adventure Day 1 – Monday, October 26, 2009
We will arrive in Dillsboro in time for lunch on your own in one of the many unique restaurants on Main Street. There will be plenty of time for shopping and browsing in the quaint shops and meandering around the town before checking into our hotel right on the banks of the river. There are 22 rooms with balconies looking down on the river. The first people to sign up will be assigned one of these rooms. Perhaps you will walk along the shore and skip a few rocks. Dinner tonight will be at the Jarrett House.

Adventure Day 2 – Tuesday, October 27, 2009
After a deluxe continental breakfast at our hotel we will board The Smoky Mountain Railroad for an exciting scenic excursion into the Nantahala Gorge. The 44-mile round trip winds through the mountainous area around the Smoky Mountains. We will also visit the Smoky Mountain Train Museum in Bryson City. After lunch in the area we will regretfully head for home with fond memories of all the friends we have made and the experiences we have enjoyed.
